“Is it safe to keep climbing now that I’m pregnant?” Was this one of the many questions that popped into your head after finding out you were pregnant? Did you struggle to find clear answers—both from your doctor and online? The reality is that there isn’t a lot of research or widely available guidance on climbing during pregnancy. Many people are simply told to stop climbing, with no real explanation as to why…

When my prenatal clients ask about maternity photos, I send them to Ethan at Colorado Maternity Photography, a Denver studio that photographs nothing but pregnancy, and it shows in how strong and comfortable his moms look. Mention Flow State and he'll take 10% off any session.

Juliana has been incredible. I started seeing her at 24 weeks pregnant after my midwife suggested starting pelvic floor PT. I had a very rough pregnancy and the delivery was also no walk in the park. 6 months postpartum and I’m starting to feel like myself slowly but surely. My core has gotten stronger, my pelvic floor is feeling much better, and while I still struggle with hip pain (yep did I mention delivery was rough?) it’s definitely improved. Juliana has been incredibly helpful and realistic about my exercises knowing that having a baby means finding time is not always easy. The breathing exercises that have helped improve my core and pelvic floor can be done even while feeding my baby. If you’re pregnant and needing pelvic floor PT, or if you’ve already had your baby, I 100% recommend seeing her.

I had my first virtual appointment with Dr. Juliana at 18 weeks with my first pregnancy! From the ease of scheduling the appointment, to the convenience of talking to her from my couch it was a great experience. She is so knowledgeable and willing to listen to any concern and answer every question. At the end of the session she sent me an email with everything we discussed and plans moving forward- which is nice to have with pregnancy brain!! I’m looking forward to continuing to work with her through my pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum experience.

I started working with Juliana about halfway through my second pregnancy after a tough delivery with my first and a difficult first trimester with this pregnancy. I was eager to get back to safe and regular movement for the duration of this pregnancy to set up for a (hopefully) better delivery and postpartum recovery. Juliana is an absolute gem. She took time to get to know me and what I was looking for, did a thorough evaluation, and set me up with a challenging yet practical program. In just a month I’m feeling like a new woman and have gotten back to workouts that are more consistent with where I was pre-pregnancy. I also have less aches and pains that I did at this point vs. my first pregnancy. I am excited to keep it up with Juliana’s support for the rest of this pregnancy and postpartum.

Juliana is a gem. I first met her as my prenatal yoga instructor and I booked a PT session with her when my pregnancy pain (SPD, sciatica) started getting intense. She recommended using a brace for long walks that were triggering flare-ups, and armed me with key information about my own body as well as a specific game plan for both prevention and dealing with those painful flare-ups. Her strategies have been very helpful. She is clearly passionate about maternal health as well as dismantling myths about pregnancy, especially regarding lifting/building strength as well as just dealing with pain because it’s considered “normal.” Perhaps most importantly, I felt very heard and respected in every interaction. Thanks, Juliana!

So sweet, kind, honest, respectful, and educational. Learning about the pelvic floor is a complicated process and without hesitation Juliana answered my questions even if it was the same question each session. She had multiple methods to help me understand a workout better and described how it can help ease my pain, prep me for birth, and keep me strong during pregnancy. She helped educate my husband with an at home visit as well. We helped me push myself with strength training and altered the exercises according to at home workouts I was comfortable with. I have had minimal pain and discomfort was eased thanks to the exercises offered and support from Juliana! As a climber I was eager to stay moving during pregnancy and the movement and exercises provided me with an easier pregnancy and more confidence in my pelvic floor understanding.

I highly recommend Juliana for anyone seeking pelvic floor therapy. I started seeing her during my second trimester when I was experiencing almost daily pain, and she made such a difference. From the very first appointment, she was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and reassuring. She provided a clear plan for treatment and helped me understand exactly how things could improve. What impressed me most was how quickly I started feeling better. After just a couple of sessions, my pain had significantly improved, and now in my third trimester, I’m feeling great. Juliana’s expertise and compassionate approach made the entire experience so positive. If you’re dealing with pelvic floor issues during pregnancy or otherwise, I can’t recommend her enough.

Juliana has been a lifeline during my postpartum period. She helped me bring movement back into my life almost immediately in a way that has been paced for the realities of what becoming a mom meant for my body. This has been so important for reconnecting with my physical strength, but also doing it in a way that isn’t too much too quick. If I had been on my own I likely would have rushed back into climbing, creating more issues for myself. Now that I’m a few months out and back at work, she is also helping me to train in a really concentrated way. Working with her, I am starting to get my strength and ability as a climber back, while balancing being a working mom of a new baby!

I took Dr. Juliana’s online course about climber moms retuning to movement in the first 6 weeks postpartum and found it incredibly helpful! There are so many things that go on women’s bodies during pregnancy and in early postpartum that she helped me understand. I feel empowered walking away with more knowledge and understanding of what will be happening in my body postpartum as well as an easy-to-follow plan for getting my body moving again during those first 6 week!

As someone who just had a c-section 4 weeks ago and started working with Juliana immediately when I got out of the hospital, movement has been a game changer! Juliana has programmed a plan that has eased me back into existence. I feel like my recovery has improved and my body has started to feel so much more normal. Additionally, it’s nice having a plan that holds you accountable to go for walks and leave the bed!
